We are the Anticolonial Asian Alliance (AAA) working on unceded Aboriginal land.

We have been working for about a year now with a number Aboriginal community members, raising money for a number of things, including medical access, daily groceries, sports teams expenses, interstate travel expenses for emergencies and funeral expenses.

For the past six months or so, we’ve been supporting a Gamilaroi family living in difficult conditions, struggling daily to survive. We have been making weekly payments of $200 to the family as a means for them to buy groceries, send kids to school etc. This money has all come from fundraising efforts at shows and this online campaign and everyone who has helped put money into the bank.

Secondly, we are running an individual campaign to try and raise $2000 to help pay back a loan made by an elder to pay for funeral expenses. This is the same funeral that AAA recently helped raised over $1000 to help cover.

The remainder was borrowed off the father of a boy the Gamilaroi family has helped rear. The father turned out to be a racist/coloniser dog and decided he wanted the money back immediately when he discovered his son was loaning the money to Aboriginal people. He has taken the family to court and been causing a lot of trouble. While legally he cannot do anything, the family is copping a lot of verbal abuse and harrassment from this man so all the help we can get will be much appreciated.

We have had a number of heart-warmingly successful fundraisers done on the ground and have already raised enough money to go towards a number of things over the past year. This effort really has been a testament to the power of community, that we really can do it all ourselves.

We have so much love for all our family and friends who have contributed their money, time and energy to our fundraisers and just wanna thank you all.

Any donation from $2 to $10, to $100 or more is really appreciated. All the money we make goes directly to community – any expenses are out of pocket, no pay or any charity/ngo shit like that. All our labour is voluntary because we believe in it. This Community Fund is just one very simple practice that reflects our perspectives on wealth distribution, community care, survival, and anticolonial action.
